I'm Stuck at the Passkey or MFA Step When Signing In
If you turned on multi-factor authentication (MFA), Bankr asks for your passkey or authenticator app code every time you sign in on a new device. You can pass your social or email login and still be stopped at this step if the passkey lives on a different device. Your account and wallet are fine; you just need a factor that works on the device you're using.
Why This Happens
A passkey is stored on the device or password manager that created it (for example your phone's Face ID, or Windows Hello on one PC). A different device can't use it on its own.
A successful MFA check is remembered for 7 days per session, so you won't be asked on every visit, but a new device or browser always asks.
How to Get In
Try the device that has your passkey. If you can sign in on your phone (or wherever you created the passkey), do that first.
Use your authenticator app if you set one up. Its 6-digit code works on any device.
Use a passkey from your phone on this computer. Some browsers offer an option to use a passkey from another device, usually by scanning a QR code with your phone. If that option doesn't appear, use step 1 instead.
Add a Backup So It Doesn't Happen Again
Once you're signed in on any device, go to bankr.bot → your profile → Security → MFA & Sessions:
Add passkey on each device you use. An account can hold several passkeys.
Set up OTP to add an authenticator app. It works on every device and is the easiest backup.
Adding or removing a factor asks you to verify again with one you already have.
Authenticator Codes Not Working
Each code works once. Wait for the next code before trying again.
Five wrong codes in a row lock authenticator codes for 15 minutes, then longer after each further lockout (up to a day). A passkey still works during a lockout.
Signing In From the Bankr CLI
A terminal can't run a passkey, so bankr login email gives you an approval link to open in your browser. The approval is valid for five minutes. With an authenticator app you can also type its code in the terminal.
Still Locked Out?
If you can't use any of your factors, open a ticket at the Bankr Help Center and include:
How you log in (X, Farcaster, Telegram or email) and the exact handle or login email
Your Bankr wallet address, if you know it
What you see on screen at the MFA step (a screenshot helps)
Bankr support will never ask for your seed phrase, private key or password. See Protecting Your Account for more on MFA, and Multi-factor authentication on docs.bankr.bot for full details.
